Faye Windass to uncover Phelan’s lies and seek justice on Coronation Street

Can they prove Anna is innocent?

At last! Faye Windass is about to discover Phelan’s true colours when she finally learns the truth about his lies. But is she going to be the one to single-handedly bring him down?

Until now, Faye has believed everything Pat Phelan has told her – even that her own mum, Anna, is responsible for hurting Seb Franklin by pushing him off a ladder.

Anna is currently doing time in prison for crimes she hasn’t committed, all thanks to evil Phelan, who has framed her for his dirty dealings.

Despite Anna pleading her innocence with her daughter, Phelan’s got Faye wrapped around his little finger. Faye even refused to believe Gary when he told her Phelan raped Anna.

But all that is set to change when Anna is rushed to hospital following a collapse in prison – leading to her later escaping from her hospital bed and going on the run.

Faye is with Phelan when they hear the news that Anna is now on the loose and wanted by the police.

And when she spots the look of glee in Phelan’s eyes that Anna is once again making trouble for herself, Faye realises that the murdering builder has been lying all this time.

Angry that she’s believed Phelan over her own mum, Faye confronts him about raping Anna. It’s at that point that she realises that everything Anna has been telling her about Phelan is actually true.

Faye sets herself the mission of bringing evil Phelan down – but can she do it on her own? Pat isn’t one to mess with – surely getting on the wrong side of him is only going to lead to danger?

First things first she needs to convince Seb that Phelan can’t be trusted – but with the scheming and smooth-talking that comes with Phelan, will Seb listen?

Speaking to The Mirror, Debbie Rush, who plays Anna, hinted at what is to come: “There are more Phelan and Anna scenes to come before Anna goes.

“It takes us to the end of January on screen. As the weeks count down, I’m really excited, if I’m honest.”

Debbie also revealed that when she told Corrie bosses that she wanted to leave, she was happy for the door to be closed permanently.

“I’m happy to let things go how they go. When I said it was time to go it was quite a long time ago and we kept it under wraps for quite some time.

With both Debbie and Connor McIntyre, who plays Phelan, leaving the soap in the new year, it remains to be seen who will leave in the back of a taxi, and who will be departing in a body bag.
