Ever since her daughter Sarah was diagnosed with heart failure, Debbie Dingle has been on a mission to get the best treatment possible for her daughter.
But while Debbie has been going crazy with worry, Sarah hasn’t been taking her condition quite as seriously as she should.
This week viewers will see her head to her school dance after assuring her consultant that she feels fine, despite still struggling to catch her breath.
Later in the week she heads off to the dance, still very poorly, but adamant that she’s staying for the duration,
And next week Debbie is set to be crushed when she’s told by doctors that Sarah will need to stay in hospital now until she has the heart transplant operation she needs to keep her alive.
Sarah was diagnosed with hear failure last month after she collapsed in police custody after being caught joyriding in one of Joe Tate’s posh cars.
Sarah was one of a gang of youngsters – encouraged by troublemaker Leanna Cavanagh – who bunk off school and go joyriding in Joe’s car.
When the police caught up with the car, the rest of the group legged it but, feeling poorly, Sarah was unable to move quick enough and got caught by the fuzz.
They whisked her off for questioning with Faith Dingle acting as her appropriate adult, but the drama didn’t end there. Oh no.
While being quizzed by the cops, Sarah’s health began to deteriorate and she was rushed into hospital where a doctor revealed to a devastated Debbie that her daughter’s heart was failing.
The condition might have been brought on my the chemotherapy Sarah had two rounds of when she was a younger child and battled cancer.
The doctor then revealed that the only hope to extend Sarah’s life was to give her a heart transplant.
Some soap fans have already began predicting where that heart might come from, with many thinking Ross Barton might save the schoolgirl’s life.

One predicted: “Ross will die and Sarah will get his heart.”
Another thought Joe Tate might offer his money (not his heart), saying: “Sarah will either go on the transplant list (which sometimes doesn’t help heart failure) or Nasty Joe will cough up for the best available treatment in the world to save her life and ALL will be forgiven.”
Others even hoped this would see the return of dad Andy.
