It’s the episode that Holby City fans have been waiting for – Serena Campbell is finally back to steady the ship… but the BBC are making the wait just that bit longer by airing this week’s visit to Holby tomorrow instead of tonight.
Tonight sees an FA Cup replay on the BBC – meaning Holby has had to be moved to tomorrow evening because of football – and no one is happy about it. Apart from maybe football fans, perhaps!

But despite the extra 24 hour wait – tomorrow night’s episode promises to be jam-packed as Serena makes her return after months away.
With all the drama that has been going on at Holby City in recent weeks – who better to come back and take the reins than consultant Serena?
After the hospital shooting and the death of his son, Holby boss Hanssen isn’t in a good place and asks Serena to come back as Acting CEO – which she thankfully agrees to.
But with so much that has happened since she left – how will Serena find being back at the helm of Holby?
Catherine Russell, who plays the much-loved character told What’s On TV: “Serena’s very reluctant to be back and is doing it out of loyalty to the hospital and the people in it.
“While she’s been away, her ambitions have changed and her view of the world has changed, following the death of her daughter Elinor.
“Serena’s heart and mind are with her partner Bernie, who’s setting up a new trauma unit in Nairobi. That’s where Serena really wants to be.”
Tomorrow night also sees Ric admitted to Holby after sustaining injuries in prison after being attacked with a screwdriver.
Serena is set to be shocked by the whole situation and becomes determined to investigate further into what happened the day Ric’s patient, Elaine Warren, died.
Elsewhere, Oliver’s physiotherapy appointment ends in drama when his therapist collapses. As he struggles to help, his future is thrown into doubt when he wonders if he will ever make it as a doctor again.
