The teen tearaway slips back into his old ways, just as his new protege, Josh, is beginning to trust him, reports from the Dales reveal.
It’s sad news for Emmerdale fans, who were just learning how to trust Josh, who has previously been involved in a burglary and a previous physical attack on Eric.
Next week, fans are given a teeny glimpse into the rascal’s heart, when he steps in and fixes Pollard’s car which has broken down on his way to a date with Faith Dingle. Oh, Eric!
Chris Chittell, who plays Eric, revealed: “Josh thinks it’s okay to steal a firearm and he has clearly not thought about it one iota.
“I cannot for the life of me see why, but there is obviously something inside that little head of his that justifies it.
“Lives are at risk because you’ve got a shotgun out there and no doubt Josh has got cartridges.
“He’s also not a responsible person at all.”
He added: “He’s bereft of any good feelings towards this oik Josh! For the time being, he’s lost and he doesn’t trust anybody now.
“It will also affect Pollard’s relationship with Jacob, because if it wasn’t for Jacob, perhaps Josh would not have burgled Pollard’s place in the first place.

“I don’t think Pollard can deal with all of this stress. He’s on the back foot here. He’s already got a dodgy ticker, so this can only exacerbate that situation!”
Oh, Eric! Please stay strong!
