Rainie decides to throw a dinner party and invites Mel and Jack, to Max’s horror.
Worried Rainie pulls out all the stops to prepare a slap-up meal for the four of them and Max is forced to pull her aside and tell her to stop trying so hard.
When Mel and Jack head upstairs to give them some space, Rainie ends up kissing a stunned Max. Will one thing lead to another? Well, this is Max Branning we’re talking about.
The next morning, Max reminds Rainie that their focus has to remain on getting custody of Abi and nothing else. How will she feel?
Later, Max seeks advice from Stacey about his relationship with Rainie while Donna learns from Martin that he and Stacey have given Max and Rainie a reference which leaves her stunned.
A furious Donna gives Martin a reality check before confronting Rainie, lashing out at her and questioning her ability to raise a baby,
Rainie is livid and gets revenge on Donna by stealing cigarettes from the Minute Mart and hiding them on her stall before reporting her.
Mr. Lister arrives and finds the cigarettes, while Donna realises she’s been set up – and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out by who.
Donna storms over to the Brannings’ to confront Rainie and Max defends his wife.
But when Donna leaves he turns on her and lashes out at her for potentially ruining their chances of getting baby Abi.
A fed up Max warns her that she won’t get a penny out of him if she messes up. But is Rainie really in it for the money?
