Fans were thrilled when Coronation Street fave Gemma Winter seemingly found romance earlier this week.
Gemma met handsome Henry Newton at a party, and he tracked her down on the cobbles, determined to get to know her better (and thanks to a bit of meddling from Norris!).
And there was more excitement for Gemma when she discovered Henry isn’t just charming and romantic – he’s also the heir the Newton & Ridley brewery fortune.

But it looks like Gemma’s heart is going to get broken because it’s been revealed that her new squeeze is actually just messing with her.
And Henry’s really only going out with her to make his friends laugh.
The Sun is reporting Gemma’s heartbreaking story is based on real-life prank victim Sophie Stevenson. She was left devastated after she splashed out to visit holiday romance Jesse Mateman in Holland, and he told her “you’ve been pigged”.

After Sophie’s story was made public last month, a source told The Sun of Gemma’s storyline:
“Now I’m sure a few Corrie viewers will be upset by the soap storyline because it’s a very cruel twist to what many will have imagined was to be a happy scenario for Gemma.
“She will be seen becoming more and more besotted with her mystery new man.
“Others on the cobbles soon realise his back story but she won’t have seen the ‘pull-a-pig’ thing coming.”
The only good thing about this nasty storyline is that we can’t wait for Gemma’s revenge! Look out, Henry!
