Tim Metcalfe unleashes his rage when his wife Sally is accused of having an affair.
The loyal taxi driver leaps to Sally’s defence – with his fists – when she is falsely labelled a cheat in upcoming scenes.

And it’s all an elaborate smear campaign to tarnish the name of the local mayor.
The trouble starts when malicious newcomer Duncan (Nicholas Gleaves) tries to ruin Sally’s reputation by spreading rumours that she’s been having an affair with him.
The resulting scandal could have very serious consequences for her political career, so she and Tim set about finding the troublemaker.

Wearing disguises – well, woolly hats – they stake out his house and track him down. But, when he continues to insist his story is true, Tim throws a punch at his ‘love rival’.
A nasty fist-fight ensues, with Tim venting all his anger at his foe.
But the punch-up could very well make things even worse for Sally…
A source told Digital Spy: “The reasons why Duncan wants to ruin Sally’s reputation will become clearer in a few weeks, but it looks like someone in Weatherfield Town Hall wants to get rid of Sally.”
Outgoing producer Kate Oates recently promised a big storyline for the Metcalfes and this could be the beginning of it.
She told Metro.co.uk: “Things get massive for the Metcalfes – they will be big right up until Christmas. I can’t promise they will still be the Christmas story as Iain (MacLeod, new producer) is taking over from me, but they have huge material for them that will see Tim and Sally at their best.”
This isn’t the first time Sally has been targeted by a rival after her council election, though. A previous social media troll was revealed to be her estranged sister Gina.
Fans can expect to see this storyline later in the summer.
