On Tuesday’s Loose Women, Stacey Solomon called herself “selfish” several times, after revealing she is not on the organ donor list.
Speaking to fellow panellists, Andrea McLean, Nadia Sawalha and Janet Street Porter about the decision, Stacey admitted: “Do you know what, I’m really embarrassed to say this, but I haven’t put my organs on the register.
“And I know how incredible that can be and how it could save someone’s life. And what a gift that could be.
“But I struggle for some reason with me being dead and someone harvesting my organs – which is really selfish. It’s something I haven’t managed to look into and make a decision on yet.”
The 28-year-old mum added that she was re-thinking her stance, after hearing stories on the show about people who’d received vital organs.
She added: “God forbid, if my children needed organs…”
Nadia, 53, reassured her that it was valid to have concerns about it, despite believing “passionately” in organ donation herself.
She added: “But it’s not for everyone and I don’t think you should feel bad for not doing it.”
Andrea, 48, asked Stacey if she would accept an organ, if she was unwell.
The X Factor finalist replied: “Yeah, obviously I would want to stay alive. It sounds so awful, I don’t even know why I’m not a donor, I don’t like to think about death.”

When pushed again by her co-stars, Stacey went on: “I think it’s a gift, I think if you can save someone else’s life, it’s incredible, I just selfishly haven’t put my name forward.”
Nadia then revealed that her own fear of death means she hasn’t got a will, which Janet, 71, told her is “ridiculous” and “so unkind” to her family.
The panellists ended the segment by discussing a poll they’d conducted with their viewers.
Andrea revealed that 68% had confirmed they’re registered to be organ donors, which inspired a round of applause in the studio.
The revelation came a few days after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Stacey, admitted to being broody while on babysitting duties for her sister.
Stacey, who is mum to sons Zachary, nine, and Leighton, five, from her relationships with ex-boyfriends Dean Cox and Aaron Barnham, shared a photo of herself with a baby.
She wrote alongside the picture: “So broody.”
Stacey has been dating actor Joe Swash – who is already dad to son Harry, 11, from a previous relationship – for two years and said recently: “We’ll hopefully have a kid by the time I’m 30.”
