Stacey Solomon has already chosen the engagement ring she wants – and it’s not a traditional diamond.
Let’s hope boyfriend Joe Swash was watching, as the mum of two told Thursday’s episode of Loose Women that she’d like an opal gem in her future engagement ring, not a diamond.
The star said there two reasons for that: one, opal is her birthstone, having been born in October, and secondly, there is a special connection to Australia.
“I don’t want a diamond,” she said.

“I really want my birth stone, which is an opal, and a lot of them come from Australia, where Joe and I first started our relationship, and that’s what I really want to have.”
Stacey and Joe struck up a romance when he was hosting I’m A Celebrity’s spinoff show and she appeared as a guest.
Fellow panellist Jane Moore joked: “Are you listening, Joe?”
Nadia Sawalha then chipped in to reference old wives’ tales about opals bringing bad luck, but Stacey wasn’t having any of it.
She replied: “I’m sure that’s just made up by the diamond people as they want to sell more diamonds!”
Also in the same episode, Stacey spoke about the pressure she feels to combine her work with kids and a relationship.
She said: “I feel like there is so much pressure on couples with children to make sure they make time for their partners and have date nights and special time together.
“Sometimes I’m just like, I do not have the time!
“I have a full time job and outside my full time job I’m desperate to spend quality time with my children, and after that I’m exhausted!
“I don’t want to go on this American dream fantasy funfair date where we eat candy floss and I’m clean shaven!”
Stacey and Joe have been dating since 2015.
She’s mum to sons Zachary, ten, and Leighton, five, from previous relationships, while Joe has ten-year-old son Harry.

Stacey previously told The Mirror: “I joke about wanting to get married all the time. Even if I wasn’t with Joe I still want to have a wedding and wear a dress one day.
“I don’t think I’d engage in a relationship if I didn’t think it was forever, otherwise what’s the point? So I really hope Joe’s the one.”
