Fans have defended Stacey Solomon as she revealed she’s starting to wean son Rex.
The Loose Women presenter shared two photos of Rex digging into some solid foods for the first time as she began the weaning process with the almost six-month-old.
Stacey, 30, told fans: “Dinner time. And so it begins… Our weaning journey has officially started.
“First stop steamed and blended broccoli. I forgot how much fun this is. He absolutely loved playing with the food and his spoon, I’m not sure what he thought about the eating part, his face when he ate it was the funniest thing ever (in the second picture).
“I can’t wait to introduce loads of different foods and have him at the dinner table with us.
“Well done Rexy we love you to the moon and back.”
However, some parenting police were quick to express their concerns over Stacey weaning Rex early.
One person said: “I’m probably going to get jumped on but please do your research before weaning. It can cause life long illnesses weaning before the gut matures.”
Another wrote: “You should do research before weaning early.”
Many defended Stacey’s decision to wean Rex.
I can’t wait to introduce loads of different foods and have him at the dinner table with us.
One person said: “NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL every child walks at different ages, talks etc etc.”
Another commented: “Good on you! Wean when ready!”
A third added: “Can’t imagine having to explain yourself to thousands of strangers over a decision that doesn’t concern them. Must be tiring.”
