She’s been in Emmerdale for what feels like forever, but Debbie Dingle could be saying goodbye to the village – one day.
Charley Webb, who plays the moody mum, says that one day she’d like to try new and different roles. But for now, she’s happy staying put.
Speaking on Lorraine this morning, Charley said: “I’d love to go and do other things and when the time is right, I will do but right now I’m really happy.
“I love it, I love all the people, I’m challenged every single day.”
Charley has two children – Buster and Bowie – with her partner and co-star Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David, and she says being in Emmerdale is good for family life.
“While the children are little it really suits my life. I go home to my kids every single night and I don’t think you can put any sort of price on that,” she told Lorraine.

Charley has been in Emmerdale since she was 15, and says she grew up on the show with some help from her on-screen parents, Emma Atkins – who plays Charity – and Jeff Hordley, aka Cain.
On today’s Lorraine, she talked about what terrible luck Debbie has with men.
She walked down the aisle to marry Pete Barton but their wedding day was ruined when he discovered her affair with his brother, Ross.
And then her romance with ideal man Tom Waterhouse turned out to be a huge lie when it was revealed Tom was really Joseph Tate, wooing her simply as part of a plan to take revenge on his former stepmum Charity.
Charley said she doesn’t think she’ll ever recover from Joseph’s Tate’s evil betrayal.
Last night viewers were horrified as Joe invited the whole village to a party at Home Farm and then took the opportunity to start bulldozing the Dingles’ farm while they were out.

Young Noah and Samson were inside when the building work began and almost perished in the dramatic scenes.
“He is vile,” Charley said. “I don’t think she’ll ever get over this one.”
