Since Nathan’s right-hand women, Mel Maguire, turned up on the Street begging for Bethany’s help, we’ve been suspicious of her. And it turns out our suspicions were right, as she’s still very much in touch with evil groomer, Nathan Curtis.

Not only is she still very much in touch with the sex offender, she’s also still very much under his spell, believing he’s in love with her and wants to start a new life with her when he’s free.
With her brain well and truly washed, Mel will do anything to keep him out of prison. And when we say anything, we mean absolutely anything. Even murder.
Sonia Ibrahim, who plays Mel, has spoken out about the lengths Mel is prepared to go to – and confirmed that she’s leaving the ITV soap.
The stunning actress told the Sun Online: “It’s been an amazing time, it’s been great to work here.
“The opportunity I’ve had is amazing and it’s just a massive family and everyone’s so welcoming and it’s so nice to work with such great people.”
Sonia went on to talk about her upcoming scenes, where she kidnaps Bethany and attacks her with a crow-bar. She said: “It’s good intense scenes.
“We just had a laugh between takes so it doesn’t stay like that.”
She went on to talk about the dramatic moment when Mel drives Bethany away from the Street and drags her onto a railway line – all for evil Nathan.
Sonia said: “Whatever Nathan wants, Mel will do it and Nathan doesn’t want Bethany to get to court.
“We know how brainwashed she is with Nathan.”

Later on, the police are called to the scene after finding the body of a teenage girl on the tracks. Craig is heartbroken when he discovers Bethany’s necklace near the scene.
Sarah is frantic with worry when Bethany fails to turn up to court.
