Britain’s Got Talent star most complained about person on TV this year

What an accolade

Broadcasting regulator Ofcom has revealed the show that received the most complaints this year up to August 1.

It turns out that 633 people were so offended by Amanda Holden’s Britain’s Got Talent dress that they complained to the regulatory body.

The 46-year-old wore the daring Julien Macdonald dress, that was slashed to the naval, on the June 1 episode of the show.

There was no doubt she looked stunning with her blonde hair poker straight and her killer figure on display.

But viewers didn’t think it was at all appropriate and the outfit received double the amount of complaints as the show in second place.

Her fellow judge David Walliams has tweeted his delight at Amanda, saying: “Huge congratulations @AmandaHolden for receiving the highest number of complaints via Ofcom this year.”

Comic Relief came in second after it sparked controversy when Vic Reeves flashed a fake genital at Susanna Reid before the 9pm watershed.

And Russell Brand also swore live on air after a technical glitch cut him off.

Emmerdale was in third place with 275 complaints about the Aaron Dingle prison abuse storyline.

The character was subjected to a violent attack and homophobic taunts as well as taking the drug spice.

Emmerdale has been reported to the body a few times this year. Emma Barton’s bullying of young Arthur Thomas received 10 complaints earlier this year, but Ofcom decided not to investigate after deciding it hadn’t portrayed Emma in a good light.

A further nine people have complained about the soap this week when Robert Sugden set up a sordid bedroom scene with Lawrence White.

After drugging him, Robert got into bed beside Lawrence, planted a condom wrapper and told him they’d had sex when Lawrence came round.

Ofcom are currently deciding whether or not to investigate.

Also on the list of most complained about shows are Benidorm’s insensitive joke and Good Morning Britain’s interview with ex English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson.
