Let’s pretend we’re shocked by that.
During a recent chat with Metro.co.uk Lucy revealed that, while the friendship could go the distance, she didn’t think their romance would.
The gorgeous blonde told the site: “At the moment, Bethany and Craig probably don’t have a romantic future.
“Bethany isn’t in the right place to have a relationship after everything that she has been through with men.
“Craig is different of course but he is a close friend and for now I think that’s all she can see him as.”
She went on to explain how her character soon discovers that Craig has his own mental health challenges to work through.
This week viewers will see Bethany lash out at a punter when she starts working as a lap dancer again at a new club.
Having a flashback to the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of Nathan Curtis, she attacks the man with a bottle and is arrested.
After being questioned by the police, Bethany’s mum Sarah suggests that maybe she would benefit from a bit more counselling.
How will Bethany react?
Meanwhile viewers have seen Craig begin to battle Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and have watched the rookie cop complete complicated rituals before feeling safe to leave the house.
His rituals have even forced him to stand up Bethany, the woman of his dreams, on several dates.
But Lucy went on to explain that the failure of a romantic relationship between the pair wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

She continued: “It’s also important to show that you can be friends with a boy – that you can be really close to someone and support each other without there having to be any kind of romance.”
