Coronation Street star’s pregnancy means ‘big change’ coming for character

She announced her pregnancy in December

Helen Flanagan’s pregnancy is forcing her Coronation Street character to get a makeover, according to a new report.

The actress revealed in December that she’s expecting her second child with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

But Helen’s baby bump is apparently causing issues for bosses because they are having to get her a whole new wardrobe!

An insider told the Daily Star: “Helen’s bump is growing by the day.

“We’ve had to get an entire new wardrobe for her. There will be no boob tubes or miniskirts for Rosie.”

Well, it’s not surprising is it? Given Rosie’s not pregnant in the soap, it’s pretty much a given bosses will have to cover Helen’s real life bump somehow!

This comes just a day after Helen hinted on Instagram what her character Rosie will be wearing over the next few months.

Alongside a photo of her wearing a pink crop top, Helen wrote: “#tbt to Rosie’s skimpy wardrobe, bring on the maternity leggings and baggy tops to hide the bump.”

Helen, who plays Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, announced her pregnancy in an interview with OK! magazine last month.

But the star, 27, admitted she waited five days to tell beau Scott, 28, because he was away on holiday when she took the pregnancy test.

She told the mag: “I was very happy, but I was a bit taken aback as this baby wasn’t in the plan. I knew I would feel a lot better once I’d told Scott.”

Scott added: “It was a little bit of a surprise! I was away in Dubai with my family. Helen couldn’t come as she was filming. She found out on a Thursday but had to wait until I got home five days later to tell me.”

The couple, who have been together since 2009, are already parents to two-year-old daughter Matilda.

She also told the publication that she plans to work right up until her due date and may not even take maternity leave!

“I don’t know how I’ll feel or if I’ll get any complications, but I think I’m going to work up to my due date,” she explained.

“I’d like some time with Matilda before the baby arrives, but I want to keep busy.”

As for whether she’ll take maternity leave and, if so, how long, she simply said: “I’m not sure. I want to spend time with my new baby but I love my job.”
