Steph Davis hits out at Phil and Holly during This Morning chat

She was on the show to talk about her relationship with Jeremy

Stephanie Davis has appeared on This Morning to set the record straight about her relationship with Jeremy McConnell.

She revealed to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield the couple ARE back together and she’s “so proud” of him for going to rehab to fight his demons.

But things took a difficult turn when she accused Phillip of being “biased” in his previous interview with Jeremy.

Jez had appeared on the show to discuss the fact Stephanie was reportedly denying him a paternity test. He had been asked to sign a contract, which Phillip said was “unreasonable”, and then Jeremy took a paternity test live on air.

Opening up about their relationship, Steph said: “We haven’t helped ourselves, I’ve not been perfect.

“I was slowly watching the man I love killing himself in front of me and there was nothing I could do to stop it.”

Jeremy is currently in rehab battling addiction, and Holly asked Steph whether the pair were officially a couple. She responded:

“Yeah, I’m not going to sit here and say what’s going to happen in a year’s time, five year’s time or even 10 year’s time, right now we’re taking it day by day, he wants to be a good dad to Caben and put the wrongs to rights. He’s the love of my life.”

As Holly probed further, she asked what’s different this time because last time Steph claimed her boyfriend made her feel worthless and depressed.

“What people don’t understand,” Steph said. “It’s really, really hard, people with addiction, it’s either ‘everything’s great and I’m so happy’ or ‘I can’t deal with this I want to die’, there’s no grey area.

“You can’t help someone til they want to help themselves. I love him and he’s doing the right thing now, believe me I’m sick of seeing myself in the paper and online, I am bored too.

“What he’s done is wrong, but he’s not a bad person.”

But as Phil brought up the contract she had wanted Jez to sign before she’d allow a paternity test, Stephanie leapt in to defend herself by hitting out at the host.

“To be honest, I thought you were biased in that interview.”

She then turned to Holly and said: “As a mother yourself, I didn’t think there was anyone sticking up for me.

“What I looked at was the terms of that letter. I’d just had a newborn baby, I had the worst pregnancy in the world, my son was in the special care unit… No person would sign that I know that now, but I was so angry at the time. Now we’ve spoken I understand.”

But Phillip went on to point out that the interview with Jez had had a positive outcome because it got the pair talking again, to which Steph agreed.

She also told the presenters she’d “never say never” to more kids with Jez.

Viewers of the show weren’t too impressed with Steph’s appearance though, especially the part where she said she was sick of everything being played out in the public eye. They expressed their outrage at her comments on Twitter.

But some fans were very supportive, insisting Steph had impressed them with her appearance on the show.

They were especially keen on little Caben, who Steph brought out to show Holly and Phil.
