We all know that each year the Strictly Come Dancing contestants get into some serious shape training for the show – and it seems the 2024 stars are already noticing the weight dropping off.
This year’s line-up includes the likes of Nick Knowles, Sarah Hadland, Tasha Ghouri and Shayne Ward.
But which stars have lost weight already? Let’s take a look…
Strictly 2024 line-up
DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles recently opened up about his weight loss since training for the competition.
Appearing on Lorraine with pro partner Luba Mushtuk, Nick, 62, said: “Luba is a wonderful combo of brilliant and patient. It was tough to start with as I have never done this before and I’m not built for it but I am getting there now.
“I have lost 13 kilos so far! I am also still working on DIY SOS too so it’s busy and we have a build next month.”
Nick’s 13kg weight loss converts to 28lb, or two stone!
However, Nick’s fiancée Katie Dadzie recently revealed he is “exhausted” after training. She told Closer: “We knew it would be hard work but he is shattered every day when he comes back. He’s near enough crawling into the house.”

Toyah Willcox
Elsewhere, 80s singer Toyah Willcox recently shared her own weight loss.
On Instagram, she told her followers that her week two dance “requires” her to wear leggings. She admitted: “I have never worn leggings in my life and certainly not in public.
“What I do love is that I’m already getting the Strictly lines. I think I’ve lost about 5lbs, not a bad thing when you’re dancing and my gorgeous partner Neil is going to be lifting me or, perhaps, I’m going to be lifting him.”
Wynne Evans
Go Compare star Wynne Evans has revealed he’s lost “a bit of weight”.
He told The Sun when asked if he’s receiving any saucy messages: “No, I’m not getting any saucy messages, I’m afraid. But I am losing a bit of weight, aren’t I? There’s a bit of timber coming off and the neck is growing.
“I’m nearly down to single digit chins. So, yeah, it’s going alright.”
Opera singer Wynne has been on a weight loss journey for some months. He also told Wales Online in 2023: “Because I’ve been on a diet and I’ve lost six stone, I always have cauliflower because, cauliflower mash, cauliflower rice, cauliflower and chips, cauliflower curry, everything cauliflower.”
Strictly 2024: Shirley Ballas
Meanwhile, away from the contestants, it’s also the judges who are dropping the pounds it seems.
Head judge Shirley Ballas recently revealed that she has fit back into a pair of trousers from her 20s ahead of Strictly’s return.
Shirley, 64, is known for her healthy lifestyle and often going on fitness retreats. In a video on Instagram, she revealed that she kept her word from April 2024.
In a video from April, Shirley showed herself wearing the trousers which she could button up. She said: “These are the trousers I had when I was 20. As you can see, they’re not quite zipped up. But they will be by Strictly, I can assure you.”
