After the cold and wet winter we’ve had here in Blighty, Tess Daly has admitted she’s been tempted to emigrate to New Zealand!
The Strictly Come Dancing presenter regularly visits the “gorgeous” country because her sister lives there and she’s often thought about joining her.
“Every time we visit my sister Karen in New Zealand I spend the next two months Googling properties and dreaming of escaping the British weather,” she told Woman magazine.
The 48-year-old, who has two daughters Phoebe, 14, and Amber, eight, with husband Vernon Kay, said she would also love for them to be able to spend more time with their cousins.
Tess said she grew up near her own cousins so she knows how precious a relationship it is, so it “breaks her heart” when Amber asks: “Mummy, can we please move to New Zealand because I just want to be near my cousins.”
However, Strictly fans can rest assured Tess isn’t planning to head to the other side of the world just yet.

She said it’s just not possible at the moment with her commitment to the BBC dance show, which airs from September till December, and the fact her girls are settled in school.
“It’s not a plausible solution but never say never. I do miss my sister terribly as we are so close,” she admitted.
Tess has co-hosted Strictly since it first aired in 2004, first with Sir Bruce Forsyth and then with Claudia Winkleman.
She’s due to return this year but it’s not yet known which professionals and celebrities will be taking to the dance floor.
Brendan Cole has been dropped, while other pros including Karen and Kevin Clifton, Katya Jones and Anton Du Beke await their fate.
Celebrities rumoured to be taking part include actress Michelle Keegan, Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain and TOWIE’s Gemma Collins.
But, as always, the show is keeping tight-lipped until the official line-up announcement.

When Tess recently appeared on Celebrity Catchphrase, she told host Stephen Mulhern she’d love to see him take part.
“I’ve just been watching the way you move around on the shiny floor and you’ve got some moves,” she told him.
