Strictly Come Dancing star, James Jordan, has shared an update on his health after undergoing a complicated surgery.
A video of the dancer posted by his wife, Ola Jordan, sparked concern among fans as he’s seen limping.
The ballroom dancer took to Instagram on Wednesday (January 5) to thank his well-wishers while detailing his post-hospitalisation journey.
James Jordan undergoes hernia surgery
The 46-year-old professional dancer was recently hospitalised due to a severe case of hernia.
James also clarified that he hasn’t “had the snip”, as he was prompted to answer his fans asking whether he had a vasectomy due to his unusual gait.
He told his followers that he was first diagnosed with the hernia in 2017 and had been treated for it, but it returned again.
The Strictly Come Dancing star said: “In 2017 I had an inguinal hernia on both sides, had the repair done on the left-hand side and basically it came back. I had to go in and get it repaired, unfortunately, when they opened me up it was a little bit more complicated than what they realised.”
He goes on to read the doctor’s report, before revealing that the pain is “pretty bad at times.” The dancer is currently treating it with painkillers, although he dislikes taking them.
Strictly star is annoyed
James has been advised to get at least eight weeks of bed rest and he’s less than thrilled about it. He called it “non-sensical” as he “can’t do anything” for about two months.
The pro dancer thanked his fans for the support while he took some time off to focus on his health.
James suffered another health challenge last year, which lasted for months. The Strictly star sustained a nasty fall in 2019 while taking part in Dancing on Ice, which damaged his hernia.
“I’ve also got lower back pain because of it. I’m falling to bits. Managing injuries is getting harder as you get older,” James shared at the time.
