James Jordan eyes Dancing On Ice return amid ITV show revival rumors

They're keen to take part if the show returns

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan has reportedly thrown his hat into the ring for the new series of Dancing On Ice.

Rumours of a return for the skating show have been floating around for a while now, ever since Head of Television at ITV Kevin Lygo suggested the show was axed too early and he wanted it to comeback.

Professional coach Jayne Torvill, who alongside Christopher Dean trained the celebs who took part in the show, seemed to confirm the news last month. Speaking to The Sun, she said:

“I love that it’s coming back, it’s great news – I’m really looking forward to it.

“The show will definitely be refreshed but the basics will be the same, we will still be teaching celebrities how to skate.”

Speculation has been flying around as to who could take part in the show, with Michelle Heaton being the first star to say she’d be up for it.

Hot on her heels, Loose Women panellist Katie Price tweeted that she would “so do this” alongside an article about Michelle’s desire to join the show.

And now ex-Celebrity Big Brother housemate James has said he’d also be keen to take part.

Speaking to the Daily Star he said: “I think it’s a great show and I would never say never… that’s all I would say.”

Sounds intriguing!

With his dance background, the bad boy of ballroom would have the moves and the strength to pull off some amazing routines – but would he have the skating ability?

Dancers have long been part of the judging panel on the show – could James be up for a spot there alongside Mr Nasty, Jason Gardiner?

When he was quizzed about the possibility of being a contestant, James added:

“It’s a lot more dangerous dancing on ice than it is dancing on the floor.

“I can’t ice skate, it could be horrific… but yeah, it could be fun.”

James, who has had two stints in the Big Brother house, is married Ola Jordan, also a pro on Strictly. She took part in Channel 4’s The Jump a few years ago, but ended up with a serious leg injury. She also starred in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.
