Strictly’s AJ Pritchard ‘upset as case against nightclub attack suspect discontinued’

The attack happened last December

AJ Pritchard reportedly feels “very upset” that the police probe into his nightclub assault has been discontinued.

The 24-year-old dancer has apparently been informed that officers will be taking no further action in the case, with Cheshire Police saying there was insufficient evidence to continue with the investigation into the attack in December.

A friend of AJ’s told the Sunday People newspaper: “He’s very upset. He feels justice has not been served.

“He’s been the victim of a violent crime and nothing has been done.”

The police also issued a statement in relation to their investigation.

It said: “Officers have carried out numerous enquiries.

“As a result, a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault. However, the case against him has since been discontinued at a magistrates’ court.”

Following the attack, AJ admitted he’d started fearing going out among “larger crowds” of people.

He confessed on This Morning: “It has made me very aware of putting myself in a scenario of larger crowds.

“Obviously I’m doing the ‘Strictly’ tour coming up and I will think twice …

“The really sad thing in this scenario was that we were just out to have a good time, and it came from nowhere.

“There was none of us in the first place causing a hassle or anything, we were not there for that scenario, that’s what is really sad for us.”
