EastEnders fans cheer as Stuart is arrested and abandoned by Halfway

But what's Stuart's next move...?

There were cheers from living rooms across the UK last night as Stuart Highway was finally arrested.

The villain got what was coming to him when police caught up with him, and his own brother Halfway finally realised what a creep he is – and turned his back on him.

EastEnders fans even got a long-awaited confession from Stuart for his crimes.

Okay, we know he’s going to plot an evil revenge and lash out in anger, but it’s a small victory!

Last night (Thursday 2 August), Mick got a visit from Stuart’s old friend Dylan who turned up at the Vic and told them he’d reported Stuart to the police for historic abuse.

And with that, police arrived to arrest Stuart at his flat – as Halfway looked on in horror.

Beginning to realise just what his brother really is, he met with Tina to ask if Stuart really had abducted her…

Confirming it was the truth, she told Halfway to stay away from his bro, warning: “He’s a sicko and he’s a liar. He lied to you, and he deserves to be sent down. He needs to be put away.”

When Stuart was released from custody pending further investigation, Halfway confronted him, demanding the truth…

And, cornered, Stuart finally confessed he’d victimised Dylan and abducted Tina years earlier.

Despite Stuart begging to be forgiven, Halfway told his brother he was through with him, blasting: “I ain’t got no brother.”

And fans were THRILLED.

One gleeful viewer simply wrote: “He’s finally got caught.”

Another said: “Stuart arrested hooray.”

A third tweeted: “Did the nation let out a cheer when Halfway said he ain’t got a brother!!!”

Surprisingly a few found sympathy for the devil, with one saying: “I love Stuart I mean he keeps doing bad things but he puts on this performance were u feel sorry for him.”

So now unhinged Stuart is alone and dangerous. Will he do the right thing and leave Walford with his tail between his legs?

Of course he won’t! His campaign for revenge starts here…

And it’s not going to be pretty!
