Sue Perkins has been left heartbroken after her beloved pooch Parker passed away.
Just a few weeks ago the presenter opened up about how her pets helped her through her “darkest times”.
Sue paid tribute to Parker on her Twitter to her 928K fans.

Alongside a snap of her two adorable dogs the 47-year-old wrote: “Farewell, beloved Parker. One half of my favourite ever double act. Love you xxx.”
Fans rushed to show their support for the star.
One said: “So sorry for your loss!”
Another added: “They’re so easy to love and so heart breaking to lose. Life is so full of dark and light. Hope you still have plenty of light.”
“So sorry to hear, they really are like a member of the family. Heartbreaking when they go,” another tweeted.
Sue later added another tweet in honour of Parker.
She wrote: “If there is a God, then he needs to be keeping an eye on his roast chicken round about now, that’s all I am saying… #Parker.”
Appearing on Desert Island Discs back in July Sue spoke about how her pets have helped her through her dark times.
Sue revealed: “When I got a dog I couldn’t believe how joyous it was. My dogs helped me through the darkest time and when my dog died, a bit of me died.
“There’s another dog in my life now, this big, silly, rescue mutt. It’s just brilliant to give an animal a second chance. A dog is a great thing.”
And this isn’t the first time Sue has been through the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet.
Back in 2014 the Great British Bake Off star wrote a letter to her canine pal Pickles, who had passed away in 2013.
She said: “My darling girl, first, a confession: I had you killed.
“I planned it and everything; asked the vet round and a nurse in a green uniform with white piping – all with the express intention of ending your life.
“When someone once took a punch at me, you leaped in the air and took it. When I discovered I couldn’t have children, you let me use your neck as a hankie. You were my longest relationship…
“You were the engine of my life, the metronome of my day. You set the pulse and everything and everyone moved to it. What a skill.”
Back in July this year Sue opened up about how her discovery of a brain tumour caused her to “destroy my life from the inside out”.
The presenter, 47, was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour in her late thirties, but only revealed the discovery of the tumour two years ago.
She told BBC Radio 4 show Desert Island Discs of the “epic destruction” that it had on her life.

Perkins said she responded to the diagnosis by saying: “‘Thank you very much, I didn’t want to know’.”
She continued: “I had a benign and extremely symptomatic brain tumour which then started to make its presence felt.”
To add to the devastating news she was then told by her specialist that she could not have children. Sue added: “It was the beginning of a very, very dark time.
“I got diagnosed when I was 38. By the time I was 40, I had literally destroyed my life from the inside out.”
