Tim Lovejoy – who hosts Sunday Brunch on weekends – once opened up about his battle with depression.
The 56-year-old opened up about his mental health struggles during an interview back in 2022.

During an interview with The Metro back in 2022, Tim opened up about his online self-help magazine.
Tim explained that he’d set up the magazine as he’d suffered depression himself.
When asked how his depression manifested itself, he said: “In deep sadness, which ended up becoming so overwhelming I couldn’t get out of bed. The human body is good at forgetting the trauma so all I can remember is that it’s a pain I can’t describe, and everything being very dark.”
The second time Tim battled depression, he realised he had anxiety too.

Tim continued, saying: “If you get pain in your arm, your arm’s not working. When you get depression, your life is not working and you have to work out why. I’ve done podcasts with all sorts of brain surgeons and psychiatrists, and no one really knows what depression is.”
He then explained that he’d read his way out of depression rather than take medication, believing there to be some theory behind why he was struggling with it.
He also confessed that he didn’t tell anyone about his mental health battles.
“My first initial really bad spell of depression happened while working on Something For The Weekend 16 years ago but I was too scared to tell anyone because I thought no one would want to work with a guy who’s depressed, so I spent a lot of my time hiding it. It’s completely flipped around in the last 16 years and everyone talks about it now,” he said.

Tim blamed ‘everyone’ for mental health battle
During the interview, Tim revealed that he’d blamed everyone but himself during his battle with depression.
He then went on to say that he’d been in such a “bad way” that he hadn’t been able to listen to the radio, watch TV, or listen to music.
He also confessed that he’d only been able to “drag” himself out of bed to do his TV work. He’d then head back to bed after.
At the end of the interview, he reiterated how important it is for men to “reach out” when battling depression.
