What tops winning $1 million on America’s Got Talent?
If you’re 12-year-old Grace VanderWaal and you’ve been compared to Taylor Swift, receiving a bouquet flowers from the star might be it.
The pint-sized singer who delighted the nation with her original songs posted a video on Twitter on Friday night of her squealing with excitement after she received the Shake It Off star’s gift.
“Taylor Swift sent me this,” the little blonde screamed, while jumping up and down in the clip.
“Words can not explain how honored I am for this… thank. You. SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!,” she added to the post.
It was just the latest in a series of celebrity congratulations that VanderWaal has received since winning the competition in Wednesday night’s final.
Singer Katy Perry, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Reese Witherspoon all congratulated VanderWaal on Facebook.
“Thank you I love you so much,” she responded when Perry tweeted her.
The pop star wrote: “Congrats! You have it.” She then told her to “protect it” before encouraging her to keep playing and writing, by using a guitar and pencil emoji.
Witherspoon tweeted her congratulations saying, “I loved you since Day 1.”
And even Fonzie – Happy Days star Henry Winkler – gushed, writing: “You touched us with your spirit and you [sic] ability.”
The singer melted the hearts of America’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, Mel B and Howie Mandel with her original compositions including, I Don’t Know My Name and Clay.
Cowell said of the night: “That moment at the end, it reminded me of the Kelly Clarkson moment [on American Idol].
“You know, when they said, ‘And the winner is Kelly Clarkson.”
“I kind of had that same feeling again when they read her name out, and I saw her reaction and she was literally in pieces.
“I like that though.”
