There’s danger for Bethany Platt tonight as newcomer Kayla Clifton’s true identity is revealed after months of secretly plotting revenge.
Viewers have known for some time that Kayla is the daughter of Neil Clifton, the corrupt police officer who was jailed for being part of the sex gang who groomed Bethany last year.
But Kayla’s boyfriend Craig Tinker and his best friend Bethany have been completely in the dark… until tonight.

In tonight’s Coronation Street double bill Bethany is set to discover who Kayla really is after she visits her at home and sees a photo of her with Neil.
The penny drops for Bethany and by the end of tonight’s second episode, Bethany will know exactly what Kayla has been hiding since she arrived in Weatherfield as Speed Daal’s new waitress.
But first let’s rewind to the beginning of the story…
Tonight’s first Corrie instalment sees Kayla slam on her car breaks, causing Gail and Audrey to crash into the back of her.
Claiming she saw a cat in the road, no one is any the wiser about Kayla’s lies until Audrey reveals the car they crashed with is registered to Martha Clifton, and Bethany decides to do some digging.
Checking the CCTV footage of the crash, Bethany notices there wasn’t a cat anywhere near the crash site, and realises something is amiss.
She goes to see if Craig is at Kayla’s house, but when she gets there, Craig is nowhere to be seen.
Kayla is home, though, and the pair are soon coming to blows when the photo of Neil is spotted by Bethany.
She’s horrified to realise exactly who Kayla is, and by Wednesday’s trip to Weatherfield she has been bound and gagged by a deranged Kayla.
