Mark Labbett says fans of TV quiz show The Chase always ask him to pick them up.
The 54-year-old star – known as The Beast – has revealed that fans often ask if he can lift them into the air because of his size.
Mark said he commonly gets asked the strange request when he makes appearances at Universities during Freshers’ Week, and has to turn people down because he’s “getting old”.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “The weird ones are the ones that ask me to pick them up. I made a promise I would only do it with the people I love and secondly, I am getting old.

“But some people can’t take for an answer. It’s fun though, you get all the weird and wonderful shots. It’s lovely meeting all the students though.”
Mark also admitted he and the other stars of The Chase – including Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Jenny Ryan – have a rivalry between them to determine the top Chaser.
Mark heaped praise on Paul – who is battling early onset Parkinson’s disease – for being named the British Quizzing Champion.
But despite hailing Paul as “remarkable” and “absolutely brilliant”, Mark also noted the other quizzers are still competing to steal his crown.

Earlier this year, Paul made light of his Parkinson’s health blow as he opened up about diagnosis.
Vowing to battle the condition with “every breath I have”, the quiz champ moved fans with his humour and bravery.
He wrote in his blog: “I have an amazing family, no strangers to serious medical illness, I’m blessed to have a fiance who is there for me, and I have a multitude of friends and colleagues whom I consider to be exceptional human beings.
“I don’t consider myself unlucky, and whatever the next stage of my life holds for me, many others have it far worse.”
