The Finish Line star Roman Kemp on antidepressants
During an interview with The Times earlier this month, Roman opened up about his depression.
Roman has been very open about his struggles with depression. He has been taking antidepressants since he was 15.
However, the star found that the medication was having an effect on his sex drive.
“It’s reality. It’s a very common thing that antidepressants can do. But I spoke to my doctor, he switched me to a different one and now I’m back up and running,” he told the publication.
“There’s not really a lot of secrets that I wouldn’t divulge if I don’t think they can benefit other people.”
The Finish Line star Roman Kemp talks dad Martin’s brain tumour scare
Last week, during The One Show, a segment, fronted by Roman, saw him look through childhood photos as he opened up about his mental health battles.
One photo was of himself and his dad, Martin Kemp.
Looking at the photo, Roman said: “These pictures are always quite precious to me because my dad is in full recovery here for the two brain tumours he had. I always look at these pictures and think about how scary it is that they might never have existed.”
In his 30s, Martin suffered a scare when he was found to have two benign brain tumours.
“it’s really strange that when I was 34 and stuff and I went through that brain tumour stuff, I was practically resigned to the fact that I was going to die, but I was quite happy with my lot, because I had lived the most incredible experiences,” Martin said on the FFS! My Dad is Martin Kemp podcast.
Roman on ‘worst’ presenting moment
Last month, during an appearance on the BRITs The Red Carpet Treatment podcast, Roman revealed his worst presenting moment.
“One of my worst presenting moments was when I was interviewing Sir David Attenborough and the producer that was in the earpiece in my ear was going ‘he’s running over, you got to wrap him up. You got to wrap him up’,” he said.
“That’s the only time I’ve ever taken the earpiece out my ears and said ‘I’m sorry. I’m not doing it. Yeah, can you tell that man- he was giving a full speech so, you know,” he then added.
The Finish Line airs today (Monday, May 27) at 4.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
