And then they announced that former S Club 7 star, Hannah Spearritt, would be joining the Taylor clan. Talk about spoiling us.
It was announced earlier this week that Hannah would be heading to Walford as Karen Taylor’s younger sister, Kandice, who’s set to be just as gobby as her sibling.
Hannah’s already been put to work by the beeb – and EE have shared pictures of Hannah with her on-screen sister (played by Lorraine Stanley) and niece Bernadette (Clair Norris) on their Instagram page.
Shockingly Hannah, 36, has been given a HUGE make under for the role.
The usually glam blonde was sporting some not-very-fetching eyewear, her locks had something of a grey tone to them clashing horribly with her day-glow orange tan.
EastEnders bosses have teased us with a little bit more info about Hannah’s character.
A spokesperson said: “The Taylors are spotted on a bus and nearly missing their stop en route to visit Karen’s younger sister Kandice.
“When they arrive they ask to borrow £10,000.
“Kandice then gets a chequebook, writes out a cheque then puts it away and laughs in her face before slamming the front door in their faces.”
Well, she sounds lovely!
Hannah has spoken about her excitement at joining the cast, which is initially for a guest stint.
She said: “I’m over the moon to be joining the show, it’s such a huge part of British telly.
“I’m really looking forward to getting started and I can’t wait to see the Square in the flesh. Walford here I come!”

It’s rumoured that if fans respond well to Hannah’s role, she could be returning to Walford as a more permanent fixture in the future.
Hannah’s no stranger to the small screen having starred in ITV drama Primeval and also a guest role in Casualty.
She also starred as herself in S Club TV shows – Miami 7 and LA 7 – and in an S Club movie called Seeing Double.
