The Prodigy hit by new tragedy as their ‘greatest friend’ minder is found dead

News comes just a month after Keith Flint's passing

| Updated:

Just weeks after their charismatic frontman Keith Flint passed away, The Prodigy have suffered another tragedy – the death of their long-term minder Con.

It’s not yet been revealed how the burly security guard lost his life.

But in a touching tweet posted this morning, the Essex band paid tribute to their late friend, describing him as “Superman”.

The tweet read: “R.i.P Con. You always had our backs and looked after us for years.

“You got us out of many sticky situations on tour, you were a truly great man, in fact you were actually Superman – the people that knew you will understand what I’m sayin…

“Above all, you were the greatest loyal friend to us all man. We will truly miss you and never forget you brother. Our love goes out to Jayne and family. The Prodigy boys.”

Con’s death comes just a month after Keith Flint died by hanging.

The singer, whose full-on vocal delivery and arresting image helped propel the band to superstardom in the 1990s, was found dead at his home in North End, Essex.

Afterwards, The Prodigy’s founder member Liam Howlett tweeted: “The news is true, I can’t believe I’m saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend.

“I’m shell shocked, [expletive] angry, confused and heartbroken… r.i.p brother.”

In the wake of Flint’s death, it was claimed that the singer ‘was followed 24/7’ by a bodyguard after his bandmates became worried about his safety.

According to The Sun, protesters stormed Flint’s Essex pub The Leather Bottle after it became a meeting place for the local hunt, leaving the frontman shaken up.

A source told the paper: “It really upset Keith, and I know the band and the management were a bit worried for him.”
