The X Factor is going continental in its search for singing talent this year!
The show will be holding open auditions in Tenerife and Spain over the next week.
The Spanish auditions will be held on Friday and Saturday at Voices in Benidorm, where there is a large British expat community.
Then next Tuesday, a bar in Tenerife called St Eugen’s will also be welcoming singers to come and perform to see if they can impress The X Factor talent scouts and producers.
Both venues have advertised the events on their Facebook pages, encouraging people to come and try their luck.
A source told The Sun the show have decided to go abroad because “Benidorm in particular is home to one of the largest communities of expat Brits in Europe.”
The insider added: “It makes it an ideal place for the open auditions to attend. There’s talent all over the world and who’s to say X Factor isn’t going to uncover the next big star in an expat resort?”
ED! has contacted X Factor reps for a comment.
The auditions are open to anyone over the age of 14 so holidaymakers and Spanish natives are welcome as well as expats.
According to the St Eugen’s ad, it’s the first time X Factor auditions have been held in the Canary Islands.
The singers won’t be auditioning in front of The X Factor judges yet though – as the panel for this year’s series hasn’t been announced yet.

Speculation has been rife about who will make it, as Simon Cowell is reportedly keen to freshen up the show again and bring in new faces.
Rumour has it Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh could all be replaced, with Louis Tomlinson, Gloria Estefan, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue all named as potential replacements.
Rita Ora and Cheryl have also reportedly been approached about returning to the show, but yesterday it was alleged Cheryl is more likely to become a “coach” on the BBC’s new show The Greatest Dancer if a full series is commissioned.
Louis Walsh, meanwhile, has hit out at the reports he and Sharon could be dropped, saying they both have three-year contracts that have yet to expire.
Meanwhile, an X Factor rep told ED!: “There is always speculation regarding The X Factor judging panel. It’s too early to confirm the judges for the next series.”
While auditions set to take place in Spain and Tenerife this month, the judges won’t see any singers till over the summer when their segments are filmed.
It’s not unusual for talent scouts to seek amazing singers outside the UK, while those from other countries often travel to Britain just so they can audition on the huge show, which has an amazing track record for launching stellar pop careers.

Previous contestants who have made the live shows include French-born Kevin Daly White, Filipino girl group 4th Impact and Saara Aalto from Finland.
