Who hasn’t thought about giving the cast of TOWIE a poke every so often. They’re just so… well, irritating, aren’t they?
But we were shocked when we heard that some of the show’s stars were subjected to an “unprovoked attack” while filming the new series in Tenerife.
Chloe Sims, Georgia Kousoulou, Liam Gatsby, Tommy Mallet plus two crew members, were jumped on by a group of thugs outside a McDonald’s after a wild evening at the Papagayos nightclub.
A source revealed: “While waiting for their food, the men got aggressive and started shouting in Spanish, before a full-on fight broke out once they left the restaurant.
“The girls were screaming after being laid into by the thugs as Tommy and Liam tried to fight back.
“Police were called and the thugs ran off, but everyone involved was left badly shaken.”
During filming of the new series, the TOWIE cast had been chaperoned by security, but on their night out, security had been given the night off.
A TOWIE spokeswoman confirmed that the attack took place: “Our cast and crew were subject to an unprovoked attack following a night out in Tenerife.
“Thankfully the group were able to get to the safety of the hotel with no one seriously injured. The team are now safely back in the UK.”
But the attack wasn’t the only drama to happen to the TOWIE cast. Drama queen Gemma Collins ended up in hospital for as yet unknown illness.
Of course, not wanting to keep anything private, Gemma shared a photo from her hospital bed last week, showing a drip attached to her hand.
She said: “Thankyou for all your lovely messages sadly Im in hospital In Tenerife but hope to be on the mend soon what a way to spend your birthday” [sic].”
