A national TV channel has aired a tutorial for women to show how they can conceal domestic violence.
As if being assaulted by your partner was normal, the programme shows the best way to cover up bruises.
The host, Lilia Mouline, who was smiling as if it were any other make-up tutorial, discussed the foundations and concealers with the “heaviest coverage”.
Seated next to her is a woman with what appeared to be a black eye and bruises on her face.
The host said: “We hope these beauty tips will help you carry on with your daily life.”
She continued: “After the beating, this part is still sensitive, so don’t press.
“Make sure to use loose powder to fix the make-up, so if you have to work throughout the day, the bruises don’t show.
“Use foundation with yellow in it,” she said. “If you use the white one, your red punch marks will always show.”

The make-up tutorial, aired on daily programme Sabahiyat, on Moroccan Channel 2M has attracted a lot of criticism due to the way it normalises assault and sends a message that the victims should just cover it up instead of condemning individuals responsible.
An online petition with more than 2,000 supporters encouraged people to contact the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication.

After the public outcry, Channel 2m had no choice but to apologise and deleted the footage.
“The management believes that this section was completely inappropriate and was an editorial error of judgement.
“The chain offers its sincerest apologies.”
So it should!
