Britain is set to roast in the hottest temperatures of the year in the next few days, with a mini heatwave set to ensure we enjoy warmer weather than the Algarve or Crete.
Highs of 34C have been forecast for the middle of next week – but heavy rain and thunder is also expected to whip across the country before the sunshine breaks out.
According to Mirror Online, experts reckon the wet conditions will prevail until Tuesday.
However, it will remain very warm even as the rain falls but temperatures will begin to rocket at the start of the week.

The Met Office’s Alex Burkill is quoted as saying: “Sunday will be a little bit drier with a few showers here and there and temperatures again reaching 25C to 26C. Across Northern Ireland and western Scotland it’s going to be wet and windy later.”
He continued: “Monday will be wet and windy across northwestern parts of the UK, elsewhere there will be one or two showers but temperatures will be rising – we’re looking at highs of 29C.
“On Tuesday the rain and strong winds in the North West will have eased and it will turn drier, elsewhere there should be lots of sunshine with highs of 33C or higher.”
However, the meteorologist also acknowledged that thundery showers could develop for the rest of the week with some wet weather coming in from the west.

It is thought London could see a peak of 32C on Wednesday, with highs of 28C in Manchester, 30C in Bristol and 29C in Birmingham on Tuesday.
But Paris is expected to swelter in 30C weather midweek – and other parts of France could reach blistering 40C.
Yellow warnings have been issued today for the downpours in Scotland and Northern Ireland, with southern coastal areas such as Sussex and Kent also likely to experience the worst of the torrential weather.
Tonight’s weather as Saturday turns into Sunday is also expected to be cooler and clearer due to the showers.
