What’s the strangest Christmas gift you’ve ever received? Maybe it pertained to a hobby you’ve never shown an interest in, or a piece of art so horrible it made you want to throw it out of a window?
Well, when Phillip Schofield is asked this question, he’s going to have a great answer for the rest of his life.
“Oh,” he’ll reply, “Once, I was given a 14-foot statue of myself hewn out of marble.”
This very gift was delivered to him and tagged with an accompanying note which read: “Hope you like your statue – and aren’t too weirded out by it.”
Phil took delivery of the unusual present with his usual good humour, signing for the gargantuan delivery with a smile.

And he cheekily referenced the fact that the topless behemoth came completely with a ripped six-pack and chiselled pecs.
He said: “Well, what a lovely surprise that was! To come home from work and find a 14ft statue of me in the garden.
“I think the shirtless pose is such a…unique idea, and so accurate too.”
The giant marble imitation was presented to Phillip by webuyanycar.com ahead of their new advertising campaign ‘So Schofield’ which has just launched.
A spokesman for the firm said: “Phillip is the inspiration behind our new Phil-osophy and we thought this gift was the perfect way to really show our love and respect for the big man himself.”
“We wanted to thank Phillip for helping to show us the way in everything we do and hope he loves his statue as much as we love ours.”

Phil did seem genuinely pleased with his new garden ornament, whipping out his phone to take a selfie with it.
Merry Christmas, Phil! Holly’s going to have her work cut out to beat this in the This Morning Secret Santa…
