Vicky Pattison escapes “violent” avalanche during ski holiday

The star was holidaying at the French resort when the disaster struck

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has had a lucky escape after almost getting caught up in a “hugely violent” avalanche during her recent ski trip.

The 29-year-old was enjoying her holiday in the French resort of Tignes when it was hit with a huge snowslide on Monday.

But it’s been revealed that she is safe and managed to avoid the drama. Phew!

As the news broke, it was told how several skiers were caught up in the avalanche after a “mass of snow and impacted ice” hit the resort.

Reports claim that the snow covered “numerous people on the slopes”.

Vicky was enjoying some well-deserved time off with her friends.

The star posted a snap to her 3.6 million Instagram followers as she set off to France.

She captioned the picture: “Let’s be off…. @roguesnaps @aztecbuilders @hollie_g.”

According to an emergency services worker who was at the scene, hundreds of skiers and snowboarders were setting off for a day’s skiing when the avalanche struck.

Police reported that “many were covered by the avalanche” after a major search operation took place including rescue helicopters along with sniffer dogs and police search teams.

Luckily there were “no serious injuries” and “everybody managed to get away”.

Thankfully the reality star wasn’t caught up in the drama as a representative confirmed: “Vicky is away skiing with friends in Tignes, she is safe and well and not affected by the avalanche.”

French journalist Glenn Cloarec tweeted a picture of the avalanche drama – and it looks pretty terrifying to us.

The former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! winner recently opened up about receiving vicious abuse from online trolls.

The TV star said nasty comments really got her down.

She revealed: “It gets us dead upset man, I would never do that.

“The type of things people say behind the veil of a computer is cowardly.

“Depending on my mood, I will rant at my boyfriend, ‘What gives Debbie from Wolverhampton the right?’

“Other times I just cry.”

She added: “People need to realise I’m still just a young girl from Newcastle.”
