If soap bosses know anything, they should realise that NOTHING gets past their eagle-eyed viewers, so Emmerdale’s top dogs should really have checked what time it was during yesterday’s episode.
Because time seemed to speed up during the first episode, as we jumped from morning to dusk, and then slow down again, as we went back to daylight.
And fans were baffled!
The first episode of the double, began with Laurel rounding up the troops for Harriet’s leaving do.
She was planning an afternoon tea “at lunchtime” and asked everyone to meet her in the cafe at 1pm.

So it was clearly mid-morning.
But shortly after that, the scene jumped to dusk as Cain took a sledgehammer to what remained of the Dingles’ wall.
And then we were back to daylight again – and everyone gathering for the lunchtime afternoon tea and Cain chatting to his dad, with the light shining through the window behind him.
In fact, it didn’t get dark – again – until Coira met on the bridge at 5pm at the end of the final episode.

Viewers were confused by the jumpy time frame.
“When Cain was smashing the wall it was dark then back to broad daylight later on!” said one baffled viewer.
“Cain was smashing the house down it was nearly dark! Scene later it was mid morning,” pointed out another.
We have to confess, we were so happy about Coira getting back together, we didn’t even notice!
