Ross Kemp showed incredible self-control during an interview with a convicted paedophile, as he went behind bars for his latest documentary.
The film-maker visibly bristled as he spoke to the prisoner, serving time in notorious Barlinnie in Scotland, for downloading indecent images of children.
“Do you think you can be rehabilitated?”, asked the former EastEnders actor. “No” came the reply.
Ross then asked: “Does that not make you a threat to society? To children?”
The felon then replied: “No, it didn’t before I committed this kind of offence.”
Growing increasing appalled by what he was hearing, Ross hit back: “Don’t you think the children in those images that you see have been forced to doing the things you like to look at?”
The offender replied: “I obviously want to keep an open mind on that because some of them, I think, seem to quite enjoy it.”
Yes, he said that… “some of them, I think, seem to quite enjoy it”.
Struggling to process what he was hearing, Ross then said: “You think you should be allowed out?”
The man insisted: “I’m no harm to them.”
At this point, many viewers were screaming for Ross to punch him – and a number praised his ability to keep calm.
He’s too much of a pro to bite, though, and remained composed, even thanking the inmate for his time.
But the actor was visibly shaken by the encounter afterwards – as was everyone who’d just watched it at home.
