Michael Barrymore’s emotional interview on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories has polarised the audience.
The TV presenter spoke candidly about his rollercoaster life.
Once the darling of ITV primetime TV, he suffered a huge fall from grace.
There was drug addiction, coming out as gay, a painful split from his wife and manager Cheryl, and the tragic death of Stuart Lubbock at Michael’s house in 2001.

Many ED! followers watching were moved by Michael’s admissions, and there were lots of calls for him to be back on TV with his own show…
Tracey said: “Loved the man back then and still would if he came back. Get him back on Strike It lucky, he made us all laugh.”
Kerry wrote: “Love Michael. The interview was very emotional, my heart went out to the poor guy, everyone deserves a second chance.”
Debbie stated: “What a brilliant, open, honest, candid interview. Can only applaud you Michael, reliving your demons and changing your life around.”
Carol posted: “I say give him a break put him back on ITV let the people decide if he’s a hit or miss.”
And Marlene added: “Just wish they would put it to rest now, Michael was only guilty of hosting a party and he lost his whole career.”
But other viewers were less sympathetic…
Jo said: “Crocodile tears without a doubt!!!”
Clare admitted: “Very uncomfortable to watch, not sure I believe anything he has to say.”
Diane wrote: “He’s a lying, conniving, self-obsessed sad human being!”
Kim added: “Don’t like him. Never have done. Was always a big head!”
Louise, meanwhile, posted: “Please people, remind yourself… there are two girls without a dad, all of that life growing up! That’s where all your sympathy should be directed, not at Barrymore.”
