Just when you thought Emmerdale couldn’t get much darker, things took an even more sinister turn tonight with Lachlan trying to kill Robert, and then Pete thinking he’d uncovered the identity of his mum’s murderer.
Lachlan’s never been a well-adjusted teenager, and his threats to his grandad in Tuesday’s night’s episode were pretty frightening. But tonight he took things a step further when he lied to Robert that Rebecca had gone into labour.
“There’s a lot of blood,” he said, with a hint of glee. But when Robert jumped into the car, Lachlan sped off to a deserted barn and attacked his former step-dad.

As Lachlan pinned Rob to the ground he hissed: “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to kill someone…”
Were we the only ones thinking he should totally have asked killer Robert to give him the lowdown?!
But after demanding respect from Rob, Lucky chickened out of striking the killer blow. Though he did remind him that he’d kill him one day. Yeah, right. We’ll believe that when we see it.
Meanwhile Paddy’s appetite for afternoon delight with Chas got him into trouble with Rhona when they missed an important appointment with Leo’s teacher. And Jai and Rishi dressed up as princesses – though baby Eliza looked distinctly unimpressed.
And over at the Bartons’ Pete was fretting about the identity of Emma’s murderer after discovering some flowers left at the scene of the crime. And he reckoned he’d worked it all out.

And now it looks like Emmerdale could be taking inspiration from the EastEnders ‘who killed Lucy’ storyline – because Pete is convinced Emma’s killer is young Gabby Thomas.
He even went as far as confronting Gabby, and then calling the police to report her.
“Give over, she’s just a kid,” said Ross when he found out what his brother suspected. Which is basically what we were all thinking.
But could Gabby be the killer? Or is this another red herring?
Some viewers are convinced Pete is covering his own tracks by pinning the murder on the teen…
