Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews and model Vogue Williams have announced their engagement.
The couple – who met in early 2017 during filming for Channel 4’s The Jump – said they were delighted to share the news after Spencer proposed on-stage following a West End performance of The Lion King on Tuesday evening.
The TV personality said he had known Vogue “was the one for a long time”.
“We’re very happy and in love. She’s my best friend and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her,” he said.
He got down on one knee after they watched The Lyceum Theatre’s production of the Lion King musical from the best seats in the house before taking part in a behind-the-scenes tour of the theatre which culminated with them on-stage for the surprise proposal.
“The engagement had to be special and, as our first trip away together was to Disneyland Paris, it felt like the perfect fit.
“The Lion King is also one of the greatest stories of all time, so I figured that having just had a romantic evening watching it, she’d probably say yes,” Spencer said.
A spokeswoman for the pair said: “The couple are absolutely over the moon and thrilled to share their exciting news.”
Irish model, presenter and DJ Vogue was previously married to Westlife’s Brian McFadden before they split in 2015.
Earlier this year Spencer became the brother-in-law of Pippa Middleton – the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister – after she wed his brother James.
