BGT’s Amanda Holden admits she lied to land dream job

BGT judge has This Morning in her sights

| Updated:

She’s a judge on Britain’s Got Talent so it’s only right that Amanda Holden displays she has plenty of showbiz skills.

The mum of two has already turned her hand to acting in dramas such as Wild At Heart and, er, comedies such as Big Top (remember THAT?!) as well as tripping the light fantastic in musicals.

Now she fancies getting her acting chops round a soap role – and not just on any old show.

Mandy has designs on a part in BBC 4 soap The Archers. Yes, on the radio, so she won’t even get to feel the gaze of her adoring public upon her…

Her ambitions don’t stop there though – Bollywood also beckons.

Closer to home, she’s keen to build her career as a TV presenter.

Recall her stint as Phillip Schofied’s co-host on This Morning? Well, she’d LOVE to make that a permanent gig.

The 46-year-old revealed: “The main reason I was thrilled to stand in for Holly Willoughby during her maternity leave from This Morning was that I’d be able to show a different side to myself.

“I wasn’t wearing the big glam frock: I wasn’t judging people. I was talking to people in the news, covering a bit of fashion, a bit of cookery, a lot of mums’ issues.

“I loved every minute. Holly is incredible but if she ever does finally hang up her stilettos, that’s the job I’d really want to be considered for.”

Course, if Holly were to go, ITV would be looking for a new male host too, as Pip Schofe has already warned he wouldn’t continue without his best bud.

It seems there’s no stopping Amanda getting what she wants, thought – she revealed to You magazine that she LIED to land a role in musical Thoroughly Modern Millie.

“When I went for that part I put down on my CV that I could tap dance, but actually I didn’t have a clue,” the petite blonde admitted.

“Once I’d got the part I had two weeks to learn how to get away with being able to do the moves and I worked my backside off to get it right.

“But I’ve never trained as a tap dancer – I just wanted to make sure I got the part.”

Watch yer back, Holly!
