He was reportedly arrested over “public swearing and intoxication” on December 16 by the Washington Airport Authority.

According to The Athletic, he paid a $25 fine on January 4.

The former England star moved across to the States with wife Coleen and their four sons in June last year.

In 2017 Rooney was banned from driving for two years and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, after being caught behind the wheel after a night out.

He was arrested in the early hours of September 1 with Laura Simpson, who he’d met on a night out in Cheshire.

Coleen was at the time pregnant with their fourth child.

The Rooneys arrived back in the UK from America in mid-December for their Christmas break, with Coleen posting a sweet snap of herself and Wayne enjoying a grown-ups-only meal out in Cheshire with her mum and dad.

Last week Coleen paid tribute to her little sister who died six years ago after a brave battle with a debilitating brain disorder.

Coleen posted a photo of her sister on Instagram with the caption: “Forever in our thoughts. Love you Rosie. #6Years.”

Rosie passed away in 2013, aged just 14, from Rett syndrome – an incurable condition that affects language, coordination and movement.
