We don’t need to tell you that this week’s Coronation Street is going to be one of the soap moments of the year with Phelan’s return and the whole 9pm post-watershed thing going on.
The psychotic builder goes on another rampage after Gary Windass brings him back to Weatherfield – a decision we bet he quickly regrets – but who will live to tell the tale?
Here’s everything you need to know about this week’s mega Corrie.
It’s on every night – and later
To make way for the Britain’s Got Talent Live finals and even more drama on the cobbles, Corrie will be moving from its regular slots at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to 9pm EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
The later slot means there can be more adult content than we’re used to from Corrie and we’re not exaggerating when we use the words ‘absolute bloodbath.’
There will be two shootings and at least one death
So we know that someone gets shot at No.11 and Michelle ends up in a pretty terrible way after Phelan holds her hostage at her own wedding. But who, who, who?
Not everyone makes it out alive either.
You’ll be face-palming yourself unconscious over Gary’s daft decision
Bringing a monster back to the place where its enemies all live is never going to end well and we really think Gary should know better than this by now.
He’s known Phelan from the beginning and knows that there is a man who will not stay quietly tied up in a builder’s yard for long.
You’ll be cheering David Platt on…
We’ve been watching poor old David suffer in silence for weeks but he will finally be spurred into action after hearing Johnny Connor pour his heart out to Peter Barlow over Aidan’s suicide.
David decides it’s time he reported his rape to the police. Prepare yourself for some hard-to-watch dialogue and some phenomenal acting from Jack P Shepherd.
… And watching through your fingers!
We won’t reveal too much but by Thursday and Friday you’ll either want your hands over your eyes, or a good-sized cushion to hide behind.
One, two, Phelan’s coming for you…
