Why Coleen Rooney is reportedly PLEASED with Wayne’s drink-driving sentence

WAG thinks it'll help her shamed husband "grow up"

When Wayne Rooney carries out his 100 hours of unpaid charity work as part of his sentence for drink-driving, it’s sure to feel like a massive fall from grace.

After all, the footy legend, 31, was on around £300,000 a week while he was at Man United, and is sure to be getting a fair old whack at his new club Everton, too.

However, Wayne’s wife Coleen, 31, has reportedly told friends that the community service will do him GOOD, helping him to “grow up”.

And with the pregnant mum-of-three said to be at the end of her tether following Wayne’s latest misdemeanour, that might just save the couple’s ailing marriage.

“Coleen has said the best thing that could’ve happened to Wayne is getting this 100-hour community service,” a source told The Sun.

“She thinks this may be the shock he needs to grow up. She’s always said he’s like her fourth child.”

Except, of course, an actual fourth child is on its way. The WAG announced last month that she’s expecting again – a new addition to a brood that already includes Kai, seven, Klay, four, and Kit, one.

So she’ll need Wayne to pull his weight at home. And according to The Sun’s source, that’s not something he’s been doing lately.

“He’s one big kid,” they claimed. “He does nothing around the house, is always fooling around – and just plays computer games.

“It’s time for Wayne to man up. The latest events are the last straw.

“Coleen thinks this might be the making of him.”

Wayne’s sentence – which also includes a two-year driving ban, making things even harder for Coleen – follows his arrest in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in the early hours of 1st September.

He was found to be three times over the legal limit. But not only that, he was driving another woman’s car.

Office worker Laura Simpson, 29, was sat in the passenger seat. She later claimed that she’d kissed the footballer, and even suggested that the pair might’ve taken things further if they hadn’t been stopped by police.

Coleen, who was in Majorca at the time with the couple’s three children, jetted home to confront her husband about the incident, and they’re said to have held crisis talks in the past couple of weeks.

Yesterday, The Sun reported that Wayne is planning to make amends for his recent behaviour by getting a tattoo that’ll pay tribute to his wife and three sons.

But something tells us that Coleen will be expecting a bit more than that.

She wants Wayne to become a new man – and she reckons his sentence could be just the thing to make that happen.
