Phillip Schofield cuddled up to wife Stephanie Lowe for a sunset selfie… after admitting he was “melting” while holidaying abroad in the European heatwave.
The 55-year-old is taking a well-earned summer break from This Morning and has been soaking up the sun overseas with his wife Stephanie.
But the silver-haired star’s latest family holiday happens to have coincided with extreme temperatures on the continent, thanks to a heatwave dubbed ‘Lucifer’ by the media.

Phillip revealed his feelings on the matter via Instagram, sharing a photo showing a sun hat, flip flops, sunglasses and his trusty Love Island personalised water bottle alongside the caption: “38 degrees… I have melted #Lucifer.”
Fans were quick to urge Phillip to stay safe in the sun, with one telling him: “Hope not Phil we need you back on This Morning. I hate summer coz you and Holly are away for soooooo long. Get back where you belong!”
Another said: “That is so funny but please materialise as I miss Holly and you. Love Ruth and Eamon but I really do miss the variation. Have a fantastic holiday.”
A third added: “Well don’t melt too much I would miss watching you on This Morning!”
Another picture uploaded to Snapchat by Phillip showed a bit of patio divided into sunshine and shade.
Phillip’s caption read: “37 degrees in the shade!! Do not step beyond the line or you will be in the teeth of Lucifer.”
But clearly not listening to his own advice, the TV star’s next Snapchat showed him painfully hopping his way across the patio while barefoot.
His simple caption read: Mistake!!”
Even poor Phillip’s precious mobile phone suffered in the extreme temperatures and ended up in the freezer to cool down.
“My poor baby!!” said Phil, alongside a picture of his sad looking phone surrounded by ice cubes, presumably taken by borrowing someone else’s phone and logging into his Snapchat from there.
As the sun set and the temperatures dipped a bit, Phillip and wife Stephanie cosied up for a chilled glass of white wine and plate of spaghetti bolognese outdoors.
Alongside his sweet selfie, Phillip simply wrote: “Me and my girl.”
Phil’s fans loved the photo and inundated the happy couple with well wishes – with one even joking that the couple who dress together, stay together!
They wrote: “Nice matching t-shirts, sunglasses and wine!”
Other eagle-eyed fans wanted to know why the wine glass Phil was holding had a lipstick stain. “Did u swap glasses for photo?” asked one bemused follower.
Phillip and This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby will be on their break from the ITV daytime show for the rest of August, with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford stepping in to replace them Monday to Thursday, and guests hosts taking the reigns on a Friday.

Their last day on This Morning was Friday, July 14, with Holly joking at the time: “We’re not usually here on a Friday, but there’s plenty of Friday fun to be had!”
