Alexandra Burke, famous for winning The X Factor back in 2008, has been involved in a big row with British Airways staff after she claims she was “treated like dirt”.
Although no one knows yet exactly what was said by the British Airways staff at the time, it appears to be to do with the hand baggage policy as, allegedly, Alexandra’s luggage didn’t meet the regulations.
She claims she was spoken to rudely and tweeted: “FUMING! Never have I ever been treated like dirt in terminal 5 from a @British_Airways employee. What an absolute disgrace! SO ANGRY!!!” She also named the specific member of staff involved.
It didn’t stop there and even though Alexandra, 28, has since deleted her tweets slamming British Airways, the airline tweeted the star back, (spelling her name incorrectly). They said: “This isn’t good to hear, Alexander. We can take the details of your complaint, this would then be passed to the Airport Manager.”

Alexandra clearly still wasn’t happy as she then lashed out and said: “How someone can reduce me to tears is beyond me. Hate rude people… why can’t people just be nice! It’s not that hard!”
The airline company then sent another tweet to Alexandra: “We can either call you or you can send us the details via DM. Let us know what you’d prefer. Thanks. Lisa.” Alexandra seemed very happy with this response as she replied: “Hi Lisa, thanks so much. I’m about to take off, I can DM you and we can have a call today when I land? Thank you x.”
The member of BA staff continued: “You’re most welcome, Alexandra. Drop us a DM with your contact number when you land. We’ll be happy to give you a call. Enjoy your flight by the way.”
Some members of the public were not impressed with Alexandra’s angry tweets about the whole incident and turned on her, calling her a “low life”. One person tweeted her saying: “Low life, concentrate on your own singing career before trying to ruin other careers, this tweet stinks.”
Others also took to Twitter to tell Alexandra exactly what they thought of her outburst. One said: “You’re using your ‘fame’ negatively. Grow up and stop being pathetic. You’re no diva like you think you are.” While another said: “Hand luggage rules apply to all even z list celebs, time to live in the real world or charter your own plane.”

When one Twitter user told Alexandra she shouldn’t have named and shamed the member of staff as he could have been having a ‘bad day’, the X Factor star replied to them saying: “I don’t care. We all have bad days! I was also VERY kind to the man in all of what happened. So yes. I will NAME AND SHAME!”
When the same user replied by saying: “Ok, so can I ask what you are hoping to achieve by naming him? You could have just made a complaint to the company he works for in private,” Alexandra replied: “Because my love – it’s my twitter. I will also complain – name and shame.”
The Metro contacted a BA spokesperson and got this response: “We were concerned to see Alexandra’s tweets this morning and are getting in touch with her to discuss what happened.”
Let’s hope there’s a happy ending!
