Woman blasts fiancé’s pre-nup that says she has to lose two stone after birth of first child

She said he wants her to lose it within the first year after giving birth

A bride-to-be has revealed her fiancé gave her a pre-nup which said she had to lose TWO stone after giving birth.

The New Yorker said in a thread on Reddit that her partner stated in a clause that any weight she’ll gain during pregnancy, she will have to lose within the first year following the birth.

The woman, 29, asked people for advice as she revealed her man also mentioned that “for every child I have for him, I get a chunk of money”.

She wrote on the forum site: “My fiancé put a few odd clauses in our prenup, such as an infidelity clause so if I cheat on him, I walk away with basically nothing.

“Along with that, he put in a clause that stated that I have to lose any weight I gain after child birth, at least 30lbs of it in the first year following childbirth.

“The oddest of them all to me is the compensation for children clause.

“I am not sure if I interpreted this correctly so anyone may correct me, but in the prenup my fiancé mentioned that for every child I have for him, I get a chunk of money.”

One reader commented on her post, saying: “You should consult your own lawyer. But that weight loss clause sure sets off alarm bells.”

Another wrote: “Definitely consult your own lawyer. Remember marriage is a partnership and you have assets to protect as well as he does – you should not sign his pre-nup, you should both sign a pre-nup that protects you both.”

A third added: “You can also make him sign some conditions. Eg. If he goes bald, he needs to pay you some amount. If he is unfaithful, all conditions of the prenup are null and void.”

One person said: “If I were you, I would add to it that if the husband also gains 30 pounds and does not lose it within a year then it invalidates the requirement on her. It should be equal on both parties.”

“The losing weight thing is insane,” another commented. “What is the penalty if weight is not lost… walk away with nothing?”

According to WebMD, losing baby weight can take upwards of a year to shed and varies depending on the individual.
