Carolyne explained that she chose an egg donor and a sperm donor.
When asked how she chose those donors, Carolyne said: “I was given ten profiles of an egg donor and six profiles of a sperm donor from America.
“The egg donor was an Indian woman who was 21. I just chose which one felt right for me.”
Host Eamonn Holmes asked Carolyne how she feels about being a mum to a young child at 58.
She said: “OK so far. [Javed] sleeps all through the night and I’ve always had plenty of energy, so I’m managing OK.”
Carolyne revealed she found out she had fertility issues in her mid 30s and since then, she’s been longing for a child.
She said: “I didn’t focus on it too much when I was younger and I think I tried to fill that gap with other things, I travelled a lot and I socialised a lot.
“But I always felt like something was missing and since I’ve had Javed, I’ve realised what was missing. My life is complete now that I have my baby.
“Even though I’m an older mother, I’m coping well and [Javed’s] very much loved and wanted.”
When asked what would happen to Javed if Carolyne was not here to look after him, she continued: “Well my sister is willing to take him if there’s any problem with me, she’s five years younger.
“And also my best friend, who was my birthing partner. She’s ten years younger and she’s very willing to take him if there’s any issues in the future.”
Carolyne said her family is very “long-lived” as her dad is in his 90s and her mum passed away in her mid 80s.
She added: “I expect to be around for quite a few years yet.”

Gushing over Javed, she said: “I’m just enjoying my time with him day-to-day and making the most of it. I have a lot of spare time that I’m giving to him whereas a younger mother may be busier and not have the time.”
When asked if she would have any more children, Carolyne said: “I don’t intend to have any more.”
Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Some people backed Carolyne’s decision, even if some admitted it wouldn’t be for them.
Others didn’t agree.
