Imagine the worst case scenario happening just ahead of The X Factor’s final.
No, not the world ending. Its great leader being absent from the show.
Just does not compute, right?
However, Master Cowell has been properly poorly all week – he was forced onto bed rest, no less.
The head judge was, apparently, hit by a full-on blast of flu – and not just the ‘man’ variety.
It’s been reported that there’s a chance he might even be absent from the show.
Now, normally we’d suggest there is no way Simon would dip out of such a big night, unless all his limbs were about to drop off.
However, illness has forced to him to cancel an important event before. Earlier this year, he had to miss his own charity ball.
The media mogul was due to host the Midsummer Ball for Together For Short Lives with partner Lauren Silverman.
Simon has no acts left in the final – his last remaining artist Emily Middlemas got the bullet last week – so perhaps the incentive for him to fight off whatever is troubling his health is not so strong.
An X Factor source told the Daily Star: “He’s on bed rest. He’s doing all he can to get better for the final.”
Come on Cowell, you can do it – even if you have to judge from your bed!
The X Factor final airs on Saturday night at 8pm.
